What Is FLL?
FLL stand for FIRST Lego League, a robotics league.
The company FIRST hosts robotics tournaments for various age groups,
Teams are formed and robots are built to do "missions"
To keep things going, each new year there is a new season with a different theme.
This year's theme is energy and this season is called "Superpowered."
The current board is shown to the right.
How Do You Play?
The game is played with robots (Spike or EV3) to complete certain missions
This year's Superpowered board is the first board to have two starting points.
EV3 is the older then the Spike but they are both equally good.
You do not control the root, you pre program the robot and align it so that the code works.
The goal is to do as many missions as possible to get more points.
Touching the robot out of the starting area causes you to get a touch penalty, taking away points.
There are touch points that reward you 10 extra points per not touching the robots (5 max) The first touch is free
Our Team
This is my personal first year doing FLL and it has been quite a suprise.
I'm on the team 52904 Robo Dawgs.
This year we got as far as the state tournament, but it is good for my first year.
We coded the EV3 to get 260 points, but at the tournament we only scored 140.
To the right you should be able to see our run at the states as of 2022*
I cannot wait until the next season to hopefully be able to use my newfound expirience on the next board.
*I will update this as more seasons come and go
